Submissions
Whether you have a mature contribution, an app, an idea you want to share or you are pursuing a PhD you can find the best venue for you:
- Strong contributions to the field and also early work with compelling evidence should preferably submit a full paper.
- Position papers, works-in-progress and small contributions should preferably submit a communication paper.
- If you want to present an evaluation tool, a mobile app, a browser plugin or a web application submit your contribution to the Accessibility Challenge.
- Check the IBM People with Disabilities Award if you have a physical disability and want to attend the conference.
- Students qualify for $500 grants if they have work accepted to W4A 2017. Check conditions and get further information about the student awards
Impact
Technical papers, Challenge papers and Doctoral Consortium papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library. Having a paper accepted at W4A guarantees a high visibility and good number of citations. As of October 2015, the average number of citations per article is 3.94 while each article has been downloaded 368 times on average.
Templates
Here we provide the latest version of the ACM templates to download.
Alternatively, consider the following:
- LaTeX users should adhere to the Alternate ACM style. Make sure your submission is formatted for Letter paper: documentclass[letterpaper]{sig-alternate} in your LaTeX file.
- Take into account the General Writing Guidelines for Technology and People with Disabilities.
Accessibility is Required
To avoid delays in approving your submissions, or to avoid potentially being rejected, ensure your paper submission has been created with accessibility fully addressed. The template above provides as much accessibility as possible within the template, but it is important to ensure the content added to it is also as accessible as possible. The following guide is provided to help you with creating a paper that will be accessible when it is save as a PDF file for submission:
