Technical Papers
Technical papers and communications should be in full paper format: 8-10 pages for technical papers, 4 pages for communication papers. This includes all figures, tables, and references; over-length or incorrectly formatted submissions may be rejected without reviews. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings which are accessible to the general public via the ACM Digital Library website. The official language of the Conference is English and accepted papers require at least one author to attend to present the work. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the members of the programme committee. Submissions MUST contain substantial original, unpublished material. Please refer to the ACM policy on plagiarism for guidance.
Papers will not be blinded – In this way we encourage a degree of self-policing: submissions are not blinded, therefore submitting immature work, to be read by a programme committee populated by the field’s top researchers, will tarnish your reputation.
Technical papers (including communications) qualify for the Web Acessibility Challenge Delegates Award
If your paper is about a working system or application you have the opportunity to demo it at the Web Accessibility Challenge. You will automatically qualify for the delegates award of the Challenge. To do so, email the PC chairs and the challenge chairs and let them know your willingness to enter in the Challenge.
If your paper is accepted you don’t need to submit an extra paper to show a demo; if it gets rejected you will have to shape your original paper in a 2-pages challenge paper. If you prefer, you are free to submit papers to both venues, as usual.
Templates
Here we provide the latest version of the ACM templates to download.
Alternatively, consider the following:
- LaTeX users should adhere to the Alternate ACM style. Make sure your submission is formatted for Letter paper: documentclass[letterpaper]{sig-alternate} in your LaTeX file.
- Take into account the General Writing Guidelines for Technology and People with Disabilities.
Accessibility is Required
To avoid delays in approving your submissions, or to avoid potentially being rejected, ensure your paper submission has been created with accessibility fully addressed. The template above provides as much accessibility as possible within the template, but it is important to ensure the content added to it is also as accessible as possible. The following guide is provided to help you with creating a paper that will be accessible when it is save as a PDF file for submission:
